Sinema Sanatları ve Bilimleri Akademisi, yaklaşan Oscar'lar için dokuz kategorinin kısa listelerini açıkladı. Dokua kategori için kısa listeler açıklandı. Uluslararası Film dalında ülkemiz adına aday adayı olan 7. Koğuştaki Mucize listeye girmeyi başaramadı.
Açıklanan kategorilere göre film sayıları; belgesel uzun metraj (15), belgesel kısa (10), uluslararası uzun metraj (15), makyaj ve saç tasarımı (10), orijinal müzik (15), orijinal şarkı (15), animasyonlu kısa film (10 ), canlı aksiyon kısa film (10) ve görsel efektler (10) şeklinde oluştu. Kısa listedeki oylama 5 Şubat'ta sona erdi ve aday olanlar, 5-9 Mart'ta yapılacak olan resmi oylamada belli olacak. Oscar adaylarının tamamı 15 Mart'ta açıklanacak ve tören 25 Nisan'da düzenlenecek.
